The former Chelsea star started the match, putting behind him weeks of speculation that he might be on his way out of China.
The speculation was triggered by an apparent power struggle behind the scenes at the Chinese club.
Reports claimed that owner Zhu Jun, who pays the wages of the star, had threatened to withdraw funding.
Zhu was apparently upset that he was not given a majority stake as previously agreed when he took over the club in 2007.
The Chinese club remained tight-lipped, with Drogba heading to Ivory Coast during the recent international break, as speculation mounted that his Chinese adventure might be over after just a handful of games.
But the 34-year-old took to the pitch on Saturday in Shanghai's 3-0 win over Liaoning Hongyun, scoring one of the goals.
Drogba joined the Shanghai club in July after helping Chelsea win last season's Champions League final.
Shenhua sits in 10th place in the 16-team Chinese Super League.
